The Adventure Begins

Greetings you! You can check back here should you be interested in how things are going for me. I doubt I'll be sending out mass emails regarding my adventures so bookmark this page to stay up to date.

I'm at a transitional point in my life, having just finished my computer science degree (June 2005), and have several paths to choose from. Do I attempt to start my own business, do I look for work that I most likely won't find in Winnipeg, or do I go do something that won't progress my career? Obviously I have other options but those listed are the top 3, probably. I don't think I'm in the right mind set for the first 2 options, so the third is the dominant option. Where does this leave me?

I haven't been anywhere, especially lately, though I should mention that I was in Mexico for the better part of the day a long time ago. That was very culturally enlightening. It's definitely time for me to experience something out of the ordinary, maybe something even a little scary.

Craig, my old friend from Winnipeg, has been in Seoul Korea teaching English as a second language. He's had a big influence on my decision to do what I'm about to do. Craig has helped me find a reputable place to work where I will be doing something quite scary: teaching kindergarten. My hackles stand up just thinking about it. I will actually be working at Craig's school in Seoul, which is exclusively a kindergarten school.

When I leave is largely dependent on when my work visa is ready and that is still fairly uncertain, however can be projected to be in the range of a week. I will likely be leaving the first week of January... very soon. I've agreed to a 14 month contract so make sure to get all hugs out of your system soon; it'll be a long time before you get another.

Me.
